Founded in 2006, Real Talk was created when two business partners realized that business without heart was not the type of business they were interested in. The two partners undertook a thorough intervention of themselves and realized that their true passion was having conversations that make a difference in people's lives. It was the one thing they would be willing to lose sleep over, miss meals over, and even skip bathroom breaks for. With a bright future in mind for all, the they began having the table talk discussion amongst themselves and one other friend. Together, the three of them sat in the Atrium of the prestigious New York Marriott Marquis, where the first Real Talk began. After several Real Talks they had dismantled the majority of their personal and internal turmoil, now grasping life's realities far quicker than before. They began to invite friends, family, and associates to participate, sharing via word-of-mouth, and the web to raise awareness and welcome newcomers. Today, over 80 events, several thousand people later, in two countries and spreading, Real Talk is the world's fastest growing chaordic, self- improvement social network. Real Talk's participants, also referred to as Real Talkers, are everyday people; they include students, entrepreneurs, engineers, teachers, artists, models, and athletes; just to name a few. Real Talk is designed as a place for anyone to come have real conversations with real people about real things. This occurs in a setting where they won't be judged, criticized, or ridiculed, and is provided for free. Real Talk is a place for you to come have real conversations, with real people, about real things -- for free. It's a discussion that happens with as little as two individuals, or several thousand in an arena, and starts with: How is your health, wealth, and relationships? And ultimately it's a lifestyle (being a Real Talker) by which you choose to live -- the lifestyle of going beyond the superficial stuff, and really getting to the authentic root of things. In it's entirety, Real Talk consists of three components: first the heart of Real Talk, the one-on-one conversation, or group discussion, second the large events where you learn how to have Real conversations with others and strangers, and lastly the website, www.talking4real.com, designed to keep Real Talkers up to date with useful tips, topics, and the happenings. Real Talk events currently happen in New York, US, and Accra, Takoradi, and Legon, Ghana. We are establishing the foundation to launch in the following cities in the very near future, Montreal, Sydney, London, Atlanta, and Paris. Real Talk's Assisting and Volunteer ideology is adopted from the model of Landmark Education, where assisting and volunteering is a two way interaction that provides both parties with lasting benefits. Real Talk assistants and volunteers provide the mortar that keeps the bricks of the Real Talk project together, and Real Talk provides, information, education, training and resources to help each assistant and volunteer progress.
