(Image captured from Learn It Live It. )
December is a month known around the world as a month to recognize the HIV and AIDS epidemic in America and around the globe. December is over, however the issue is not.
HIV and AIDS is still an issue in our communities and the numbers are growing quicker than ever before.
Where does the individual come in? And by individual we don’t mean them; we mean YOU.
Let’s just consider that somehow by chance you’ve contracted HIV. Three out of every five people who are HIV positive do not even know. Perhaps you’re one of the three? (Participate even if you’ve been tested.)
What’s next? How do you live life? Who do you talk to, etc?
Respond with your comments, thoughts, ideas, and questions.
Real Talk is about having REAL conversation. It’s beyond the superficial, so go beyond the surface level on this; take it to the place where you are not usually willing to go in your everyday talk with family, friends, and colleagues.
Some other questions you might want to consider:
1 - How do I get tested?
2 - How I bring up conversation with my partner(s) to get tested?
Scenario: "So I am positive"
1 - How do I know where I got it?
2 - How do I deal with know that I possibly spread it to others?
3 - How do I inform my partner(s)?
4 - How do I tell my family and friends?
5 - What are my options?
6 - With possible death looming, how do I cope emotionally?
7 - How do I cope with dealing with the person that gave it to me?
